UV & Fade Resistant
Many performance fabrics are just regular fabrics that have had a protective finish applied to the surface of the fabric and will easily fade over time.
This applied finish can also wash off over the course of time.
The majority of outdoor fabric manufacturers sell this type of coated fabric designed for outdoor use.
These fabrics are only fade resistant for up to 500 hours of UV sunlight.
They are not made from 100% solution dyed acrylic.
All Sunbrella soft upholstery and marine grade awning fabrics are made from 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric.
Our Sunbrella fibres are saturated to the core with highly UV stable pigments during manufacturing.
This makes our Sunbrella outdoor bean bags resistant to fading and the degrading effects of sunlight.
Sunbrella fabrics’ performance characteristics are an integral part of the fabric.
We offer a 5 year warranty against fading from normal use and exposure conditions.
Our fabrics are designed to be breathable so they are water repellent but not completely waterproof.
If you happen to leave your bean bags uncovered during a rainstorm, the rain will bead up and roll off. For prolonged exposure to rain shake or wipe off excess water and leave the bean bags out to air dry.
Mould and Mildew Resistant
Sunbrella fabrics are known for their excellent breathablility. With this characteristic they dry quickly outdoors and mould is prevented from forming.
Should exposure to dirt cause mould to occur all Sunbrella fabrics can be safely cleaned with bleach.
To clean, simply brush of dirt and debris before it gets embedded in the fabric.
Mildew grows on dirt, pollen and other organic matter.
Simple routine cleanings will prevent mould and mildew from forming.
Sunbrella fabric is chlorine resistant and perfect for use around swimming pools.
Colour goes into the core of the Sunbrella fibres which means Sunbrella fabric can be cleaned using bleach without losing its colour.
Waste Water Reduction
Sunbrella’s unique colouring processes not only makes Sunbrella solution dyed fabrics and yarns fade resistant it conserves more water than conventional dyeing processes.
Sunbrella fabrics last much longer than traditional fabrics creating less waste as they need to be replaced less often due to fading or loss of strength in the fabric fibres.
